The roof had a spot of rust above the rear windscreen since I bought the car.I finally decided to do something about it.
There was sizable bubbling on the rear right above the windscreen, and under both sides right above the side window trim in that little channel.
I removed the window seal and here’s what I was up against:
So I masked the car up:
And sanded it down as best I could:
Hit the rust with Brunox:
Then painted the lot and cleared coating it (using spray can paint):
It wasn’t my best work, but I was working with spray cans, outside, and had to get it done all in one day.
I let that dry for a couple of days and then wetsanded and polished it all:
However, unfortunately, the blending didn’t come out anywhere near as good as I would have liked. I ended up sanded through the clear in some parts and you could clearly see the part where it blends, especially in the sun. So I decided I would just do it properly and paint the whole roof with a spray gun, along with finally doing the fender and the door. So the following week I started preparing the car…
