Why You Would Want to Install Coilovers On Your Integra?
As I mentioned in the introduction, the Acura Integra is a very good performing car from factory. These cars were designed to go fast and handle well, and this makes them very popular among racing enthusiasts.
However, like most stock cars, they have their limitations, and installing aftermarket parts will allow you to tune your Integra to look and perform exactly as you want it to.
One of the biggest reasons people install coilovers is to lower their car to achieve a certain look. Whether you are after a mild drop for a slightly more aggressive performance aesthetic, or you want to completely slam and “stance” the car, coilovers allow you to set the ride height perfectly to suit your needs, down to the millimetre.
They also allow you to adjust the height relatively easily. All you have to do is jack the car up, takes the wheels and loosen the locking collar, and wind the coilovers up or down.
With stock suspension, you are stuck with whatever height they give you, and this doesn’t suit many people.
Another major benefit of coilovers is that they significantly increase the handling performance of the car.
Yes, the factory suspension does a great job on the Integra, but they are still made to be soft enough for the average person. If you are looking to make your Integra handle as well as possible and don’t mind a stiffer ride, coilovers are the best solution you can get for performance.
Also, depending on the coilover model, you can adjust the stiffness of the dampers to be able to go from soft to stiff and vice versa, to suit different requirements. So while you are driving on the road, you can set the dampers to soft, and when you get to the track, you can quickly stiffen them up for increased handling.
Overall, no matter whether you are looking to lower your Integra for looks, or you are trying to make it faster and handle better, coilovers are one of your best options.
Conclusion
I hope this has helped you to find the right coilover kit for your Integra. If you have any questions or would like to submit another coilover for this list, feel free to post in the comments below.
