Why Should You Install Coilovers On Your GS300?
Whether you are looking to make you GS300 look better by lowering it, or you want to improve its handling performance, coilovers and one of the best ways to do it.
The factory suspension was designed more for comfort, and sits quite high. It is also not adjustable in any way – what you get is what you get.
With coilovers, they give you the ability to not only select the right setup for your requirements, but also to adjust the ride height, and depending on the model, other things too such as damper stiffness and even camber and castor.
From a performance standpoint, there is no other better alternative to coilovers. Coilovers were designed originally for racecars, and offer the best handling performance of any suspension system currently available.
From an adjustability standpoint, coilovers are the most reliable and robust solution that is still relatively easy to adjust, and is the most affordable. Sure, air bag suspension makes adjusting ride height even easier, but that comes with its own set of problems. I discuss coilovers vs air bag suspension here.
Overall, as far as suspension setups go, coilovers are one of the best options you have, and that’s why so they are popular among car enthusiasts worldwide.
FAQ Regarding GS300 Coilovers
Will IS300 Coilovers Fit a GS300?
Some IS300 coilovers will physically bolt into some GS300 models. However, there are significant weight differences between these two cars, and the IS300 suspension is not correctly tuned to handle the extra weight of the GS300. Therefore, while you could physically bolt them in, they will not ride or handle very well.
