If you are looking to buy coilovers for your car, no doubt you want the best you can get.
The problem is there are so many different coilover brands and options on the market today, it can be almost impossible to know what to choose.
Add to that a number of factors you need to consider in order to select the right coilover kit for your car – budget, intended use, other modifications and so on – that it becomes almost impossible to make a decision without being a suspension expert.
Luckily, I have done a ton of research on practically every coilover brand, and I can tell you which are good and which are not.
In this post I will give you the 20 best coilover brands of 2024 so that you can make an informed purchase decision.
The Top 20 Best Coilover Brands
BC Racing
BC Racing have grown widely popular in the car tuning world since they started producing coilovers 20 years ago.
Their extremely wide range of applications and lots of customization options, combined with their excellent value for money, has made them one of the top two most popular coilover brands.
BC Racing coilovers are made in Taiwan and have coilovers for almost every car out there. Not only that, but they also offer customization options such as custom spring rates and valving, the option to upgrade to Swift Springs, Extreme Low option, rear camber plates and more.
All BC Racing coilovers have at least 1 way dampening adjustability, with some models having 2 and even 3 way dampening adjustment. They make kits ranging from daily driver coilovers all the way up to full track spec kits.
All their coilovers also come with a 1 year warranty and are fully rebuildable, with all the parts available for purchase. Not bad for coilovers that cost around $1200.
You can read more about BC in my BC Racing coilovers review.
Fortune Auto
Fortune Auto are known for providing extremely high quality and well performing coilovers that are highly customizable and even upgradable.
There are a few things that set Fortune Auto apart from most coilover companies.
For starters, they test every damper on the shock dyno and match them to within a 3% tolerance to ensure every kit that leaves their facility is of the highest quality. They also hand assemble every single kit at their facility in Virginia, USA.
As I mentioned, their kits are modular and are upgradable to a higher spec, so if you get their entry level kit you can upgrade it later on to one of the higher spec versions, all the way up to 2-way dampening adjustable with external reservoirs.
Fortune Auto’s focus is on performance and their kits range from daily driver coilovers designed to give you excellent handling while still retaining a good ride, all the way up to full track spec kits that are customized to suit your needs.
All their coilovers come with a range of customization options including custom spring rates and valving, Swift Springs upgrade, rear camber plates, Super Low and more.
Another thing that makes Fortune Auto special is they offer a 5 year warranty on their coilovers, which is one of the longest warranty periods of any coilover manufacturer.
Their coilovers start at $1799, so if you have a bit more money to spend on your suspension, Fortune Auto are a fantastic choice no matter what you need.

Riaction
If you want customizable and upgradable coilovers but can’t quite afford the Fortune Autos or even the Silvers, Riaction has you covered.
Riaction coilovers are the lowest priced option on the market that allow you to customize the coilovers to your requirements, and the ability to upgrade to 2-way dampening adjustable with external reservoirs and even switch between digressive and linear valving.
Riaction coilovers come in either linear or digressive valving, or 1 or 2 way dampening adjustable, and give you the option to specify custom spring rates and valving, Swift Springs and more.
Riaction have countless positive reviews and a great reputation, offering a quality product and excellent customer service with support in the USA. They also offer lifetime free labor on their coilovers, which means when you need a rebuild, you only need to pay for the parts. Pretty cool if you ask me.
So while they probably won’t outperform some of the more expensive options, they are a great low priced alternative if you don’t have a large budget.
You can read more in my Riaction coilovers review.
Silvers
Silvers Coilovers are a lesser known brand, not quite yet gaining the popularity of BC Racing or Fortune Auto.
However, they make some really good coilover kits that are very customizable and even upgradable.
Based in Taiwan, they have their own facility where they hand assemble every kit to order, and dyno test every damper. Any damper that is not within a 5% tolerance is scrapped.
Silvers coilovers are highly customizable, with the option to go with the Super Low kit, custom spring rates and valving, Swift Spring upgrade and more.
The Neomax kit, which is their “entry-level” 1 way dampening adjustable kit, can be upgraded to 2-way dampening adjustable with external reservoirs.
Silvers also offer an 18 month warranty and boast the fastest turnaround times in the industry, even for custom orders.
Priced only slightly more than the BC Racing coilovers, these are a fantastic option with a slightly longer warranty and even the option to upgrade.

Feal
If you are looking for custom made coilovers for your specific application, Feal has you covered.
What makes Feal unique is that they put a lot of effort into ensuring you get the perfect kit for your needs, rather than just selling you something off the shelf.
They will ask you about your requirements including what you intend to use the car for, along with the car specs including engine, weight, tyres and more, to determine what the best setup for you will be.
They also have a range of options for their coilovers, with standard, road race, drift, drag and max travel spec kits available.
Another thing that sets them apart from other coilover brands is that they design their kits to have up to 25% more stroke, which ensures you get more tyre grip as well as a more comfortable ride.
Their kits range from road kits all the way up to track specific 3-way adjustables, so no matter what you need they will have something to suit you. Their coilovers are also customizable and upgradable to a higher spec.

Stance USA
Despite the name, Stance USA actually make some of the best performance coilovers you are going to find. Not to be confused with “Stance+ or Stance Plus”, which is another brand all-together.
Very popular in both the time attack and drifting circles, Stance coilovers are designed to give you the best handling performance possible and last the test of time.
They have coilovers ranging from 1-way dampening adjustable street kits to 3-way dampening adjustable track spec setups.
One of the things that make Stance coilovers unique is they use inverted dampers on all MacPherson strut setups, giving you extra rigidity as well as reduced unsprung weight.
They also use a special coating that was specifically engineered for them, which has been salt spray tested for over 1000 hours to ensure you will never have a problem with corrosion.
If you are looking for very good performing and high quality coilovers, Stance USA are a name to consider. They will also customize their kits to suit your requirements.

TEIN
TEIN are big name when it comes to suspension and are well known for providing huge range of coilovers to suit many vehicles and all needs and budgets, making them one of the most popular coilovers brands in the world.
TEIN are based in Japan and were established in 1985. They have around 1 million applications for their suspensions, and have kits ranging from $500 street coilovers to $5000+ motorsport kits. They will even build you a one off kit for your car to meet any requirements that you need.
The thing about TEIN is that they put a lot of technology and R&D into their kits, and have strict quality control, even for the cheaper models. So there are very few other companies who can compete with them – especially on the lower priced coilover kits.
Whether you are looking for a cheaper street coilover kit or you need coilovers designed to handle motorsport, you can’t go wrong with TEIN.
You can read more about TEIN and their coilover kits on my TEIN coilovers review here.
Moton/AST
If money is no object and you want uncompromised performance no matter the cost, you won’t find much better than Moton/AST coilovers.
AST have been around for over 20 years and make some of the world’s best racing suspension.
Founded by Piet Kreeft who worked for Koni supporting their professional racing teams and having spent 40 weekends a year for almost 15 years at the track, AST have a history and expertise few other companies can claim.
Their focus is on performance and they only make the absolute highest quality suspension, ranging from 1-way adjustable streetable kits to 3-way adjustable racing setups used by professional racing teams.
If you want the absolutely best handling performance for your car, you can buy AST/Moton suspension knowing with confidence that no one else at the track will have a better setup.
Ohlins
There are a few big names when it comes to the best in coilovers, and one of them is Ohlins.
Ohlins are from Sweden and have been around since 1976. They have been making high end coilovers for the top tiers of motorsport (both cars and motorcycles) for decades. If you want performance coilovers and money isn’t a problem, Ohlins are definitely one of the brands you should consider.
Ohlins offers a wide range of coilover options from Road & Track to Motorsport for dedicated race cars and even Offroad & Rally options.
All their suspension is height and dampening adjustable, with the Road versions being designed for quick and easy adjustment between road and track mode.
The only downside is that their vehicle range is somewhat limited, so you might not be able to find an Ohlins kit for your particular car, depending on what model you have. But if there is one, you should definitely consider buying it.
To find out more, check out my Ohlins coilovers review.
KW
KW is another big name you’ll hear whenever suspension is mentioned, and for good reason.
They’ve been around since 1995, based in Germany, and are well known for making suspension for top tier motorsport.
KW make a wide range of coilovers from Street Comfort all the way to dedicated motorsport suspension. They are in the upper end of the price range, going from around $1300 for some of their cheapest options to $8000 or more.
They even make a hydraulic lift kit system which can be added to the coilovers to make getting over speed bumps and steep inclines no longer a problem.
While I personally think they are a little overpriced, there’s no denying that KW make a quality product. If you want the best for your car and have a big budget, KW is one coilover brand you should consider.
Read my KW coilovers review to find out more.
ST Suspensions
Not many people know this, but ST is owned by KW, and all ST coilovers are manufactured by KW in Germany to the quality standards of all KW suspension.
Infact, the only real difference between the KW V1s and the ST V1 coilovers is the steel they use – the KW V1s use INOX-LINE stainless steel while the STs use galvanized steel, which means less corrosion resistance so they won’t do as well in harsher climates that have snow.
Aside from that, they are practically the same product, making them an excellent option for around $1000.
ST also have 3 other, higher priced options which include dampening adjustability, camber plates and more.
ST coilovers are on the upper end of “budget” coilovers, however they are definitely something to consider given that they are basically KWs without the pricetag.
HKS Hipermax
HKS are a big name in the JDM world and are very well known for making high quality performance car parts since they were established in 1973. They were also the first in the world to sell an aftermarket turbo kit.
Their coilover range is called “Hipermax” and according to HKS is “designed for a great driving performance and a comfortable ride”. They feature single tube, inverted dampers that have 30 levels of adjustment, which HKS believes provides a better ride and handling characteristics than twin tube dampers.
They also offer between 2 and 3 years warranty depending on the coilover kit, so you can be sure you won’t have any issues any time soon.
The only downside to the HKS Hipermax coilovers is that other than some BMW models, their kits are for Japanese cars. So if you have a car that isn’t Japanese, they probably don’t have a kit for you.
Find out more about these coilovers in my HKS Hipermax coilovers review.
D2 Racing
D2 Racing coilovers are a good option if you are looking for good value for money.
D2 Racing make coilovers ranging from street kits all the way to track specific kits including rally, tarmac, drag, drift and more.
Their suspension products are very popular in South East Asia where they are frequently used in motorsports such as the Macau Grand Prix and the Asia Pacific Rally Championship. D2 Racing also have their own race teams in Taiwan, Thailand, Hong Kong and China.
D2 Racing have support within the USA where they can service and rebuild their coilovers, and they will also make you a custom kit if one doesn’t already exist for your car.
As far as lower priced coilovers go, D2 Racing are a safe bet that will give you good handling performance.
You can find out more in my D2 Racing coilovers review.
Yellow Speed
Another brand offering coilovers around the $1000 mark, Yellow Speed are slightly less known but have a very good reputation.
Yellow Speed Racing is based in Texas and is a partnership with Yellow Speed in Taiwan, allowing them to manufacture coilovers at a low cost while doing R&D and testing in America.
They have coilovers ranging from street kits for just under $1000 to race kits with 2-way dampening adjustment and inverted dampers.
Yellow Speed also compete in motorsports in Asia such as the TCR Taiwan championship.
If you are on a budget and are looking for coilovers that will offer you good performance, Yellow Speed are a decent choice.
If you want to know more, check out my Yellow Speed coilovers review.
Megan Racing
Megan Racing have been around since the original days of the JDM scene in the 90s, and make some decent budget coilover options. They currently have 8 coilover models with options for European, Japanese and American vehicles.
Their coilovers range from $600 street kits which have 15-level dampening adjustment, to track specific kits with Swift springs and 32-level dampening adjustment.
Megan Racing coilovers come with a 1 year warranty and have many positive reviews. Now, while I wouldn’t expect them to perform or ride as well as many of the other brands on this list, they have proven to be a good option if you are tight on cash and are looking for budget coilovers that are still decent.
You can find out more about them in my Megan Racing coilovers review.
Solo-Werks
I did a review on the Solo-Werks S1 coilovers here, and having personally run them on my BMW E36, I can recommend Solo-Werks coilovers as a good budget option. For most vehicle models they go for around $499, and they are very good for the price.
What most people don’t know is that Solo-Werks was actually started by a few ex-KW engineers around 10 years ago, and they’ve been making high quality, low priced coilovers mostly for European cars ever since.
At the moment they only have the S1 coilover in their line-up, which is an excellent entry-level coilover that is more than adequate to handle daily driving, street use and the occasional track day.
Solo-Werks make coilovers for BMWs, Audis, Volkswagens and some Japanese cars.
Godspeed
If you are really on a tight budget, Godspeed coilovers are one of your best options.
Selling for an incredibly low price, Godspeed have become one of the go-to coilover options because they offer a surprisingly decent ride, list of features and build quality for the price.
Their most popular kit is the MonoSS which is a budget street kit, but they do also make a range of higher spec kits as well.
While I wouldn’t expect them to outperform most of the coilovers on this list, if you are really short on cash and need a set of coilovers, these are one of your best bets.
You can find out more in my Godspeed coilovers review here.
Bilstein
Bilstein have an excellent reputation which it comes to suspension, with their shock and spring combos being some of the most highly recommended in the European car circles. They are heavily involved in motorsport internationally and are known for their high build quality and good ride quality.
They have 8 coilover options ranging from street use with only height adjustability, to race coilovers with independent bump and rebound adjustment.
They also offer a limited lifetime warranty on most of their products, with anything other than failure due to misuse or impact damage being covered. Other products are covered between 90 days and 2 years.
NOTE: People report issues with Bilstein coilovers, particularly the B14 and B16 when adjusted outside of the range of Bilstein’s recommended heights (even though the threads allow you to set these heights). If you are planning to slam your car, Bilsteins may not be the best option for you.
H&R
H&R is another big name when it comes to suspension. Also from Germany, they too have a background in motorsport and have been supplying Mercedes DTM teams with suspension for 8 years. They are also involved in other racing series including touring car, GT, Monoposto and Formula One. They also provide OEM suspension for manufacturers like Volkswagen, Mercedes and Porsche, and are known mostly for their lowering springs.
They offer a selection of coilovers for both street and track use which have been specifically designed with comfort and performance in mind. Their prices range from around $1200 for the Street Performance coilovers, up to $1800 for the RSS kit which feature adjustable dampening. They also have an Ultra-Low range for those of you that want to slam your car.
Eibach
Eibach was founded in 1951, originally making springs for industrial applications. In 1975 they started making springs for automobiles and have been a big player in OEM suspension, car tuning and motorsports ever since. Eibach suspension products have been used in WRC, DTM, Formula One, NASCAR, IndyCar and WTCC. They are widely known for their springs, especially lowering springs and extremely vast coilover spring options.
Their coilover line, named Pro Street S, are available for a wide range of vehicles and are typically in the $1200 – $2000+ range. As mentioned, they produce a large number of springs for their coilovers in many different spring rates, so you can order the exact spring rate you want (these can also be used on other coilovers that use standard sized springs).
They do also have a Pro Street Multi line that do have dampening adjustability, which actually allow you to individually adjust the compression and rebound.
Conclusion
I hope that this guide has helped you to select the best coilovers for your car. If you are unsure what would be the best for your needs, or you have another question, feel free to post in the comments section below and I will do my best to answer it.
